Since myVideo launched a video streaming service in 2012, the number of users had grown steadily with the support of cross-device experience. Nevertheless, little attention was paid to improve the shared experience on TV screens compared to mobile devices though users spent most of their time on their TV screens.
Since myVideo launched a video streaming service in 2012, the number of users had grown steadily with the support of cross-device experience. Nevertheless, little attention was paid to improve the shared experience on TV screens compared to mobile devices though users spent most of their time on their TV screens.
Talking to a few different users with diverse backgrounds and watching habits, such as first-time fathers, retired mom and single white-collar worker...etc, which has given us a lot of learning and insights. Although myVideo’s previous design model was based on Android TV Guideline, one common pain point we found all have is that the most used features are hidden too deep, the users have to spend a lot of time to find what they want to watch.
The main content such as ‘recently viewed’ and ‘favorites’ on the landing page was redesigned. It was based on the findings from user interviews that they tried to prepare a video on their mobile app to avoid using cumbersome TV remote controllers.

User-friendly onboarding experience on mobile devices was the main focus to encourage users to sign up and upgrade their plans easily. TV, web and mobile experience and design had to be aligned while considering sync. Rather than just finishing up a short-term project, we built a long-term relationship by leveraging a deep understanding of business challenges and market status.
